LIFE ON THE FARM
The land at Soda Creek Vineyards might look a little different from when Nancy Apallas was a little girl playing on her grandfather's property, but its charming sense of place remains. Life on the farm at SCV also takes proprietor, Yeoryios, back to his agrarian roots when he grew up in a small village in Greece.
When Yeoryios was 12, his parents decided to seek better opportunities in America. It was at UC Davis that Nancy met Yeoryios, where both were attending college. Nancy was working at the student bookstore when she caught his eye and he finally asked her out. And the rest is history.
When they finally moved onto the family property in 2009, creating a vibrant vineyard farm with animals was a dream. Working with their family, Nancy and Yeoryios began adding backyard chickens, pygmy goats, baby doll sheep, blue bird and owl boxes, flower gardens, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and multiple compost piles. Working in harmony with all aspects of nature plays a critical role in life on the farm at SCV.
